Three Teaspoons or Six? MILO Ends the Stir-Crazy Debate

Iconic Three Lamps Ponsonby is reimagined as Three Teaspoons with MILO

MILO settles the infamous teaspoon debate that divided the nation.

Former Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern recently shared a social media post from her travels around the world, asking the ‘right’ way to make a MILO.

“I grew up being told I could only make a Milo with one or two teaspoons of powder. I picked up a can recently, though, and apparently, you make it with six?! Is that an extreme Milo to liquid ratio?! Or is that the way it’s always been?”

This Tuesday, the 10th of June, from 7 am to 4 pm, MILO will be giving away the choc malt drink, made with three teaspoons of MILO and milk – served hot or cold.

For one day only, MILO will be turning Three Lamps Ponsonby into ‘Three Teaspoons’ to remind Kiwis of the right way to enjoy their MILO.

“Kiwis are passionate about how they have their MILO. Recently, Jacinda Ardern expressed her surprise at how MILO is served in other countries,” said Nestlé New Zealand Head of Marketing, Fern Castellanos.

“Her now-famous post about MILO from abroad, served with six teaspoons, shocked the internet and left thousands of Kiwis reminiscing about their childhood memories and questioning their own MILO preparation rituals.”

Nestlé New Zealand is bringing fans a reminder of the Kiwi way of serving MILO, with three heaped teaspoons and milk.

“Come on down to ‘Three Teaspoons’ and join us to raise a mug to MILO – the Kiwi way!”

If you can’t make it down to Three Lamps (or Three Teaspoons) you can purchase MILO in most supermarkets across the country.

MILO is available in a variety of options, including MILO Mocha, MILO PRO (with added protein), MILO 30 percent Less Added Sugar, MILO Restore and MILO Frothy.
