Twilight TV Series in the Works

Nothing screams late 2000s cinema quite like the Twilight Saga, which sparked the world’s curiosity for vampires on a whole new level. It has been rumoured that the saga will continue, this time on the small screen.

A Twilight television series is in the works, and will continue to be based on Stephanie Meyer’s romantic novel series, and produced by Lionsgate.

Although still in its infancy, the Twilight series has sparked excitement from fans all over the world.

Last year, actress and star of the film series, Kristen confessed to being surprised by the overall success of the ‘Twilight’ films.

The 33-year-old was catapulted to global stardom as Bella Swan in the franchise, but Stewart admitted that she never expected the first film to take off in such form as it did.

Appearing on the Jessica Cagle podcast, Stewart expressed her surprise last year.

“We just did not know. And it was kind of like an oddball, slightly marginal teen movie. I didn’t think everyone was going to take to that. I didn’t think we were going to make a sequel,” said Stewart.

She went on to further state that she felt the film might have turned viewers away, and that she was fearful of it being labelled as an indie movie.

The film series also starred Robert Paterson and Taylor Lautner, and the question on the mind of every fan was whether or not they were team Edward or team Jacob.

No further comment about the series has been made, but it is definitely one to watch.
