It’s that time again – the New Zealand International Film Festival, aka NZIFF, is back and better than ever! We have complied a short list of our 100% MUST SEE films.
5. TURBO KID
Just by looking at the cultural influences and comedic styling, it’s no surprise that Turbo Kid is directed by a bunch of Kiwis/Canadians. FUN FACT: The three directors are a brother, sister and boyfriend trio. It looks hilarious, exciting and not to mention a little OTT – and we love it!
4. MOMMY
French/Canadian Xavier Doolan has just released his fifth film! Quite an achievement for the 25-year-old actor/filmmaker and it’s about time it hit our shores.
3. BANKSY DOES NEW YORK
Documenting the frenzy of adulation and controversy that erupted during street artist Banksy’s month-long ‘residency’ in New York, Chris Moukarbel energetically investigates the issues of art and ownership within the public space.
2. THE WOLFPACK
I get chills just watching this trailer. Also I love the blues brother vibe of the brothers hitting the streets.
1. LOVE 3D
Gaspar Noe (Irreversible, Enter The Void) presents his latest film; a sexual melodrama about a boy and a girl and another girl. It’s a love story, which celebrates sex.
