HOW TO: Make the best Dalgona Coffee

Move over Starbucks, we’re making our own Iced Caramel Machiatto’s now! Well… not quite, but now that I have you here, let me introduce you to the biggest trend in Korean pop-culture since Parasite’s Ram-Don: Dalgona Coffee.

Dalgona Coffee is a Korean recipe that makes a cup of coffee that mimics a traditional Korean sugar candy with the same name. With everyone in isolation and at home with not much to do, it’s only obvious why this home DIY trend has been a hot topic as of late.

Here’s how you can create your own:

Ingredients:

White sugar, instant coffee granules, hot water and milk of your choice.

Directions:

In a mixing bowl combine sugar, coffee and water (all equal parts, add more sugar if you have a bigger sweet tooth though) with a small whisk or spoon. Using a whisk makes you feel like you have your life together a bit more though.

Keep whisking.

When you think you’re done, you’re not. The whisking never stops. According to the experts you need to whisk at least 400 times. I wouldn’t take any risks.

Once you’re done, add ice cubes to your cup as well as some cold milk of your choice. Top with your foamy goodness and voila!
