Lower Hutts ‘Cool As’ Summer Refresher Drink Challenge leaps into its fourth year this summer. 14 hospitality operators including cafes, restaurant, bars and a bakery will take part in the challenge which involves each operator creating their own signature drink.
Customers vote for their favourite drink either by ballot or on the ‘Cool As’ Summer Refreshers Facebook page, with the winner of the competition declared on the 4th of March. The challenge launched in 2015 as a way to inspire local cafes and restaurants to be creative and attract more people to the region.
Customers will be in for a treat this year with a wide range of flavoursome, weird, whacky and wonderful signature cold drinks being created, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, to tempt any taste buds. Competitors will have the option to compete in five categories which include: best-frozen drink, most refreshing tea, best ice drink, best healthy drink and a fun/crazy drink category for kids. In addition, Hutt City Libraries will also be holding a fun design competition for all ages with a range of prizes up for grabs.
