Nintendo Australia are looking for the best Splatoon 3 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe players in Australia and New Zealand to battle it out in a live final at PAX Australia 2023 on Sunday, 8 October.

Starting this month, Nintendo Australia will be hosting a series of online qualifying events for each championship. The open qualifiers will determine the top teams and players who will compete in the live final. Players of all levels are welcome to compete.

The top Splatoon 3 squads will be decided through Turf War and Anarchy Battle modes, strong teamwork and clever strategy will be needed to come out on top in the heated four-on-four match-ups. Registered teams will face off against each other in Turf War best-of-three single elimination brackets, with the quarter and semi finals in Turf War and Anarchy Battle best-of-five single elimination.

The winning team from each qualifier will be invited to the Live Grand Final at PAX Australia. The qualifiers will be held on Saturday, 19 August and Sunday, 27 August at 1pm NZST.

The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe qualifiers will be held in September, racers will accrue points as they compete in 150cc Race Mode with normal items across a variety of courses. The top two racers per qualifier will qualify for the Live Finals at PAX Australia.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe qualifiers will take place across the first two weekends of September with six events. Times can be found on the Nintendo Australia website.

Scores reset at the end of each day, so if you don’t win the first day, Nintendo encourages you to try again. A single player may only claim one prize and cannot qualify twice.
